NADINE ABOUSSOUAN
My current style is part of the movement of figurative and abstract art. Color and texture are my two initial sources of inspiration, coupled with a continual desire to explore new themes and experiment with new techniques. Alchemy of colors and textures, brightness, transparency, and strong contrasts are the essential elements that I seek to highlight in my painting.
My favorite subjects are varied and often borrowed from nostalgia: nostalgia for the fields of poppies of my childhood, nostalgia for Lebanon and its history, and a particular fondness for the characters. Deeply attached to my Lebanese roots, my recent research lingers on the ancient Phoenician statuettes, whose stylized representations have become a symbol dear to the Lebanese.
