CLAUDE MICHAUD - PHOTOGRAPHER
I wanted to be a painter but was not willing to invest in the necessary time commitment, so photography took over.
Today my photography has much in common with painting. The selective focus permits me a more emotional expression. I am less interested in detail but rather in colour, texture and the patterns in a scene.
My main influences are Constructivism and Pictorialism. Portrait is an important part of my work, either single images or sequences. I first exhibited in 1973.
Each photograph below is unframed and part of a series printed on archival photo paper in a limited edition of 10.
It is recommended that each photograph be mounted with anti UV glass and placed out of direct sunlight.
The black and white images are printed on 11'' x14'' ( 28 x 36 cm ) paper.
The colour images are printed on 12'' x18'' ( 30x46 cm ) paper.
